Innovative HR policies

Human Resources knows no bounds. Herzberg and Maslow theories are not sufficient to keep your employees motivated at the work place. It is probably with this understanding that companies have started to innovate their methods to keep employees happy.

A recent trend in the software industry is to gift customized products to the employees on their birthdays. It is said that the more emotional your gift seems to be, the more loyal the employee will be at the work place.

Take this for an example. The HR department knows you and your family inside out. And suppose they gift you two flash drives, one with your name, and the other with your wife's name laser-engraved on it. Wouldn't that make you feel special.

Or how about the HR department remembering the birthday of your son or daughter and present a flash drive with his name engraved on it. Atleast your son will not want you to leave the company. In fact, knowing this trend, there are even companies that offer such customized products at the same rate as normal flash drives. This, I feel, is a great HR technique.
