Women Fashion and latest style trends

The last week of April this year, saw a flurry of excitement at the nation’s capital. The politicians were not the focus of the nation’s attention for a rare occasion and the candies of everyone’s eyes were the bold and the beautiful. The Lakme India Fashion week spelt out the arrival of the fashion revolution in India three years back and, with each annual run, has been taking the movement bigger and louder.
Courtesy this year’s season, bold is back once again. Bling is king. Colours rule the roost and black is best confined to the office cubicles and business lunches. Shimmer and glitter have found their way back to the wardrobes and its time to pick out grandmom’s old zari embedded sarees and lehangas and trade it at the local boutique for a brand new head turner of a dress. Needless to say, experimentation, this season, is welcome with a warm smile. Work your way around with fabrics, with sequins, with cuts, with collars, with cuffs and let comfort call the shots. Slip into the classic regal kurta with a pair of shimmer leggings or pair your tube with harems.. Pick a heavy pleated skirt with a gunjee or settle for calm cotton white. The season is ready to accommodate you. Only leave your woolens and long skirts behind. And need we remind you, boot cut denims became a fashion taboo years back? Spring summer has always been about comfort and this season is no different.

In the accessories space, leather is a crime. Settle for an elegant golden or silver purse pouch. Let your potlis rest for the garbha season. Move to fibre and jute for your casual outings. Denim, only if you want it to be read as a jeans-cut-out.

And colour blindness, this season, is unforgivable. Contrast is strictly not tolerated and you might want to stick to colours of the same or neighbouring families. Wedges are big. Sandals are out. Peepers are excitingly cute and ballerinas still rule.

Its all out in the open this season. Catch it if you can!
