What's it about English?

Google is really growing into its gorillahood. A quick calculation (via HipMojo), based on the latest figures from the Interactive Advertising Bureau, shows that in the first half of 2007 Google commanded a 40 percent market share of all online advertising in the U.S. (Okay, I’m rounding up. It was really 39.8 percent). But that compares to a 34.6 percent share in the first half of 2006, based on IAB data for that period. Here’s the math:

Yahoo answers go mobile

One of Yahoo’s most successful product launches in recent years has been Yahoo Answers, which is showing more than 50 percent year-over-year growth in pageviews, according to comScore. Yahoo keeps pushing the crowd-sourcing property, which lets 95 million registered members around the world answer each others questions.

Now Yahoo Answers is going mobile, with results from the service to be included in Yahoo’s mobile search, known as oneSearch. My guess is that this is just the start and Yahoo Answers will add more mobile features over time, such as the ability to ask and answer questions on the go, in addition to looking up previous answers. Wikipedia results will also be included in the upgraded oneSearch.

Dollar strengthens against Euro

The dollar strengthened to a two-week high against the euro on Friday after a report on U.S. payrolls showed encouraging signs despite a rise in the unemployment rate.

The 13-nation euro slid to as low as $1.4030 in afternoon European trading, before rising to $1.4065. Still, that was down from the $1.4117 it bought late Thursday in New York.

The slippage came after the U.S. Labor Department reported that employers boosted payrolls by 110,000 in September and said that the economy actually added 89,000 jobs in August instead of the earlier estimate of a 4,000 loss.

I don't know if Mahalo, the people's search engine will ever gain in popularity. I mean, the logic fails me.Each time you need to search a new keyword, you go there and enter it.Then the guys there would find the right search results for you and then as and when more and more people search for it, a search page is created.

How will that help. Means I will have a search result page for gramaphone invented decades back, but if I want news on something as recent as iPhone, Mahalo will flop..

I hate bugs

I woke up in the morning with rashes on the back of my neck. I know it has to be because of the bed bugs. Man, I am not tired of them. Just do not know where they come from right in the middle of the night. I do clean my bed all the time. My friend advised me to know some basic facts about bedbugs, like how they affect a place and stuff. I am learning on controlling these bedbugs. Hopefully I get rid of them...
