Twitterers - Get a life!
The blogosphere is abuzz with bloggers heralding the arrival of Twitter (the service that lets guys with no lives 'tweet' about their lives) as the true news medium beating conventional news channels in their speed of reporting.
Ok, for a moment I ignore what Amit Agarwal has to say and assume that the above premise is true. One thing I do not understand is who are these twitterers? Do they have a life at all? Who in their right mind would be capturing images of blood stained victims and posting it on their social networks or Twitter "LIVE". How about helping that guy reach a hospital?
The tipping point is this blog post. 'UltraBrown', supposedly an avid twitterer has his friend caught up in the Taj hotel where terrorists have held guests hostage. If it were my friend, I would have been praying hard, probably weeping, calling police to check status, or at least watching TV to see if the ordeal is over. And here is, tweeting to let the world know that his friend (yes, that's right. It's HIS friend!) who is also in that hotel. Makes him receive his 15 seconds of fame!Duh
