Tomatoes, the cause of Salmonella outbreak

The recent Salmonella outbreak in the US has been attributed to have come from the restaurant tomotoes.

So what does Salmonella cause. It simply causes fever and non-bloody diarrhoea which resolves within a week.

Looks like this should calm the minds of those who started jumping up and down over a report that Cadbury chocolates had indications of Salmonella in them.
